The Palmer Chamber of Commerce is warning members of a scam affecting their events on social media, and now a suspicious email has been sent to vendors.
In an email sent to Palmer Chamber members and a post to their Facebook page, the organization warns members to be careful. There have been several posts claiming there are open vendor spots for Colony Christmas and Trick or Treat Street, which the Chamber says are scams.
An email has also gone out to past vendors claiming the organization is taking reservations for Colony Days, which is also a scam.
“Please be aware that there are emails circulating that falsely claim to be from the Palmer Chamber. These emails may try to get you to click on a fake website. Do not click any links in these messages,” the Chamber said in an email to members.
The Chamber reminds members, vendors, and the public that any message, email, not from the official Palmer Chamber is a scam and to not reply to it. “We will never send emails from addresses other than those ending with @palmerchamber.org.”
The Chamber also warns not to remind to not sign up for anything unless it is through their secure website at www.palmerchamber.org, and if you do receive any suspicious emails, to please contact them immediately. “Your vigilance helps protect our community.”
