To the editor:
The city of Palmer and the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the following sponsors for their help in the 2010 Palmer Cleanup Day:
MTA, First National Bank Alaska, BP, AlaskaUSA, Mat-Su Health Foundation and Valley Views Realty.
We would also like to thank Valley Community for Recycling Solutions and Ready Recycles for recyclables collection. They estimate that 40 yards of materials was collected for recycling.
With your help we were able to collect 15 tons of garbage from the Palmer area.
Thanks to Job Corps, which sent out 120 volunteers to pick up garbage, as well as 96 other volunteers from around the community who registered with the volunteers at the pavilion.
We know there were many other volunteers as well, we just couldn’t keep track of all of them.
We look forward to an even bigger and better cleanup next year, so mark the second Saturday in May as Palmer Cleanup Day. Thank you.
