PALMER — Greg Thornsley won the 2013 Iron Man Championships at Alaska Raceway Park last week. The race originally scheduled for Labor Day 2013 had been scrubbed by three days of rain. Blue skies prevailed as Thornsley ran his 08.95 dial-in to the thousandth 08.9500 narrowly beating Frank Whitman of Wasilla who dialed in 09.73 and ran 09.7361.
Roger Sikorski of Chugiak won his first championship trophy in Open Air running his motorcycle at 88.88 miles per hour.
