Palmer hosted Valdez Thursday in a fast-paced volleyball match that featured dominant middle hitters in Palmer's Emily Sakis and Valdez's Shannon Arts.

Great ball movement and pinpoint hitting by Valdez proved to be too much for the Moose as Valdez swept three games by scores of 15-4, 15-8, and 15-5.

"They are a good team," said Palmer coach Steve Reynolds. "We made some good plays tonight that would have made a difference against other teams."

Valdez set the tone early by demonstrating a disciplined passing game that set up hitters everywhere along the net.

Palmer players were kept off balance as Valdez kept shooting everywhere on the court.

The Palmer girls did well in an attempt to keep the pace and return shots of its own.

Emily Mounce and Sakis continually pounded shots from good sets, but the Valdez back line was able to get many of the shots and set up its own hitters.

Wasilla sets Skyview

The Wasilla Warriors volleyball squad added another win by taking down Skyview Thursday at Wasilla High School.

The Warriors needed only three games to take the match by scores of 15-10, 15-9, and 15-6.

Lacey Adcock led all Wasilla hitters with 14 kills while adding 11 digs.

Caitlin Fisher contributed 12 kills and chipped in 11 digs.

Stefanie Farris led all Warriors with 15 digs.

Alayna Morgan set for 20 assists while Amanda Gehring added 16.
