Palmer girls, Colony boys win Colony Tri swim meet

PALMER — Jake Simmons won a pair of events to lead the Colony Knights finish first in the boys’ team standings of the Colony Tri Saturday at the Palmer Pool.

Simmons won both the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke during the three-team meet. Simmons also helped lead the Knights to victory in the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Millie Snelders posted a pair of first-place finishes to help Palmer place first in the girls’ team standings. Snelders won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. Palmer’s Gabe Waldhaus broke a Palmer High school record in the boys 1 meter dive during the meet. Waldhaus set a new mark with his first-place score of 255.40.
