FAIRBANKS — The Palmer Moose girls basketball squad notched a second-place finish in the Mt. McKinley Holiday Classic at Monroe Catholic in Fairbanks over the weekend.
Thunder Mountain scored the title of the four-team round-robin tournament with a 43-25 win over the Moose last Saturday.
Molly Osiensky led the Moose with 10 points in the loss.
Palmer beat host Monroe 53-21 on Friday. Kalei DePriest finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for Palmer. Elliot Perkins added eight points in the win. Osiensky, Kalei DePriest and Leya DePriest were all named all-tournament.
In boys’ action, Thunder Mountain beat Palmer 69-38. James Nisbett led Palmer with 15 points.
