KONA, Hawaii — Taylor Blake must like Hawaii.
The junior guard scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Palmer Moose to a 58-50 win over Hawaii Preparatory Academy during the first round of the World Youth Basketball Holiday Invitational in Kona, Hawaii, on Sunday.
Palmer, which opened its 2011-12 season with the game, trailed 34-26 at halftime, but Blake sparked the Moose with 15 third-quarter points.
Senior Kasara Brandenburg added 11 points in the win. Junior Caitlin Scott hit a pair of three-pointers and added eight points.
Blake poured in 17 points during a 71-20 victory over the Kealakehea Waveriders on Monday. Brandenburg also scored a team-best 17. Brooke Simmerman pitched in 12 points and nine rebounds.
Palmer finished with 30 steals in the game.
The Moose continue tourney play today.
