KODIAK — Junior Mikaela Bolling scored 10 of her game-high 13 points in the final eight minutes to lead the Palmer Moose to a 43-33 Northern Lights Conference win over the Kodiak Bears at Kodiak High School on Friday.
Bolling hit four shots from the perimeter in the fourth — nailing two of her attempts from beyond the arc and hitting two more shots from just inside the three-point line.
Senior Mattie Cox added six points to help the Moose improve to 1-2 in conference play.
The Palmer defense held Kodiak All-NLC forward Alyssa Horn to just three points.
On Saturday, senior Ashley Swetzof scored 19 points to lead the Moose to a 53-32 win over the Bears.
Palmer led 28-12 at the half.
The Moose improved to 2-2 in Northern Lights Conference play.

Knights win first
match in Juneau
JUNEAU — The Colony Knights survived a third-quarter Juneau-Douglas comeback to score a 57-52 win over the Crimson Bears at Juneau-Douglas High School on Saturday.
Colony opened the game on a 13-0 run and led 19-6 after the first eight minutes, but Juneau used an 18-9 third-quarter run to make the game interesting.
Juniors Alex Coon and Kara Larson each scored 12 points to lead the Knights. Junior Jackie Hamann added 10.
Colony was originally scheduled to play Juneau on Friday and Saturday, but Friday’s game was cancelled due to poor weather in the Juneau area, according to the Juneau Empire. The series was moved to Saturday and Sunday. The teams face today at 2:45 p.m. at JDHS.

Wasilla over Skyview
SOLDOTNA — The Wasilla Warriors used an early lead to breeze past the Skyview Panthers 55-29, Saturday afternoon in Soldotna.
Wasilla carried an 18-8 lead into the second quarter and a 38-10 advantage into the half.
Junior Jenna Johnson scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Warriors. Freshman Celeste Colegrove hit double digits for the fourth consecutive game, with 14 points. Senior Shelby Fulton added seven.

HOMER — The Wasilla Warriors used superior defense to post a 65-24 Northern Lights Coneference win over the Homer Mariners at Homer High School on Friday.
Junior Jenna Johnson hit seven shots from the floor, finished 5-for-5 from the free-throw line and scored a game-high 19 points for WHS. Freshman Celeste Colegrove added 12 for the Warriors, who improved to 3-0 in NLC play.
Reba Temple scored a team-high nine points for a squad that did not have a player hit double digits in scoring. Homer was also held to single digits as a team in each period.

NORTH POLE — The North Pole Patriots erased a 12-point deficit to earn a 59-53 win over the Houston Hawks at North Pole High School on Friday.

Junior leads Warriors past Mariners in Homer
HOMER — Junior guard Adrese LaVern erupted for 32 points to lead the Wasilla Warriors to a 73-33 drubbing of the Homer Mariners at Homer High School on Friday.
LaVern hit five three-pointers in the win, and scored 14 of his team’s 22 points in the third quarter.
Forward Tillerman Kroon scored 12 for Wasilla, and guard Dexter Pearce added 10.
Colten Nutt, Josh Gilbert and Michael Pate each scored nine points to lead Homer.

FAIRBANKS — Host Lathrop found itself behind at the end of both the first and third quarters, but managed to come back to steal a 57-56 victory from the Houston Hawks at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks on Saturday.
Houston led 20-10 after the first eight minutes of play and 49-42 after three quarters.
The Malemutes used a 15-7 run in the final quarter to secure the win.
Junior Bryan Mason and sophomore Scott Herman each posted a team-high 15 points to lead the Hawks. Senior Ben Castleberry added eight.
