PALMER — A trio of Palmer divers helped the Moose girls win the Kenai Invitational Sept. 28 in Kenai.
Taylor Miller finished first in the girls’ diving, and Ally Hrncir and Sophia Gimm filled out the top three in the event for the Moose. Palmer finished with 94 total points, seven ahead of runner-up Homer.
Maria Beck (100 freestyle) and Olivia Beck (500 freestyle) each scored a runner-up finish. The Palmer girls were also second in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Palmer also finished second in the boys standings with 92 total points. Charlie Russell finished second in both the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Moose. Stewart Sawyer (200 IM), Grant Keyes (dive) and Jaxson Lee (100 freestyle) also finished second.
Knights win tri meet
The Colony Knights amassed 435 total points to finish on top of the combined team standings during a tri meet Sept. 24 at Chugiak High School.
Konnor Kolberg used a pair of wins to help the Knights win the boys class, with 233 total points. Kolberg finished first in both the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle. Karson Kolberg finished first in the 200 freestyle, and Jonathan Cowin was first in the 100 backstroke.
Jasmine Biederman earned two wins for the Colony girls, finishing first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breastroke. Joscelyn Biederman placed first in the 100 freestyle.
The Colony boys also won the 400 freestyle relay, and the Knights girls were first in the 200 freestyle relay.
