PALMER — Two days, two team titles and a productive trip to the Peninsula for the Palmer girls swimming and diving team.
A day after winning the Soldotna Pentathlon, the Moose finished first among 10 teams in the Kenai Invitational Sept. 8 in Kenai.
Gretchen Snelders factored into three victories and helped the Moose finish with 73 total points in the team standings. Snelders was first in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races, and also helped the Moose win the 200 freestyle relay. Lindsay Musgrave earned a win in the 100 backstroke for Palmer, and defending state champion Chloe Hartman finished first in the girls’ diving.
Wasilla’s Camren Hancock led Valley boys with a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle.
Alexis Mattson (200 freestyle) and Taylor Nelson (100 backstroke) led the Colony girls with second-place finishes. Konner Kolberg was second in the 100 butterfly to lead the Colony boys.
Palmer won the SoHi Pentathlon with 36 total points. Snelders was third for Palmer. Mattson led Colony with a fourth-place finish in the individual standings. Kolberg led Valley boys with a fifth-place finish in the individual standings.
