PALMER — Athletes from 33 schools will hit the Michael Janecek Trails for the annual Palmer Invitational cross-country running race Saturday afternoon.
Teams from as far north as Barrow and south as Juneau will participate.
Region III-4A squads Colony, Palmer, Kenai, Kodiak and Soldotna are among the teams in the field. Lathrop and West Valley are among about 10 teams hailing from the Interior.
Houston and Susitna Valley will also represent the Valley.
The 1-2-3A girls varsity race is slated for 1:15 p.m. and the 1-2-3A boys varsity race is at 1:45 p.m. The 4A girls race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. and the 4A boys varsity race will follow at 2:45 p.m.
