Palmer- This Sunday is Palmer High School’s 22nd Reunion Picnic for the class of: everyone. Given the past difficulties of coordinating reunions, Willie Boggs (class of 1956) decided to open this event to anyone who went to Palmer High School- any year. Boggs said that this has been an ongoing effort starting after the very first reunion in 1996 (her class).

“We tried years ago and it didn’t evolve into anything,” Boggs said.

She has taken the reins to corral the scattered Palmer graduates since no one else has been able to do it.

“I’ve deemed myself the committee of one,” Boggs laughed.

She has rallied some support along the way, “I got stuck with doing because my son talked me into it. He’s a graduate from 1980. He came up and put his arms around me like he always does and said it’s okay mom, I’ll help you.’ And he has; he’s been a great help,” Boggs said.

Boggs stated there would be at least a handful of original colonial families there. So, it looks to be a gathering of elders but there should be some younger generations mixed in. This approach seems unique and could be the secret to rounding up the various Moose under one roof.

“We’re going for anybody that went to Palmer High whether they graduated or not. We opened it up for the whole thing, teachers and so forth. They’re welcome to come,” Boggs said.

The reunion is from 12(noon) to 4:00pm and will be at the Palmer Train Depot.
