PALMER — Palmer High School students hosted and participated in the State FFA convention during Spring Break March 13-16. Eight students participated in four career development events and one student was elected to state office.
Brandon Traini won 1st place in Extemporaneous speaking. The PHS floriculture team of Jenni Klebasadel, Jenny Wallace, Sophia Nowers and Justice Darby won 1st place as well.
Darby won 2nd in individual agriculture mechanics. Chase Bruesch placed 7th in extemporaneous speaking. Caleb Glaser participated in Ag mechanics and Kamerin Ewart participated in Prepared Public Speaking.
“The fact that the competition was held during spring break made me even more proud of my student’s dedication and commitment to their competitions,” said longtime teacher Don Berberich. “State convention is always a grueling long week and they really stepped up to the plate.”
