Palmer Historical Society meets Wednesday

The next program is at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Palmer Library. Ben Wattum will give a presentation on operation of the Independence Mine ski resort in the ’60s and ’70s. As always there will be refreshments and door prizes. The presentation May 18 is about the Allen expedition and June 11 is a Colony House Museum open house for Colony Days.

You might also think about renewing your membership at the meeting. Renewing and new members can get a copy of the mystery disk of photos and archival materials from the Stroup collection mentioned in the Feb. 1 issue of the Frontiersman or a copy of the Sleem Map of the Willow Creek Mining District in 1910.
