PALMER - Applications are being accepted for the 2005 Palmer Little League baseball and softball season. Birth certificates are required for all new players. All non-returning players and players going to the next level are required to attend tryouts. Returning players to majors and juniors do not need to attend tryouts because they will be placed on the same team. All other players will be placed on a team, but some players trying out for majors will be placed on minors' level teams. A $15 late fee will apply after April 9 if space is still available.
Who can play?
Boys and girls must be 5 years old and less than 19 years old on July 31, 2005 and must live in the Palmer area. Practice fields will be assigned in late April with the first games to take place in early May. The regular season will be finished by July 4 (All-star teams play through July). The league adheres to strict, age-based little league rules which require proof of birth date. Softball is open to girls only and tryouts may be held at the major and junior levels depending on numbers. More information, including player representative contact numbers, can be found at http://eteamz.active.com/palmerlittleleague.
