PALMER — A 23-year-old Palmer man faces three felony counts in a child pornography-related case.
Tyler Zachary Barnes was arraigned in Palmer District Court Friday on first-offense distribution of child pornography, distribution of indecent materials to a minor and online enticement of a minor under 16. According to Alaska State Troopers, its Bureau of Investigation’s Technical Crimes Unit received a report of the solicitation of a naked picture from a 13-year-old juvenile on June 9, 2016.
Police state that subsequent investigation led to the seizure of evidence that corroborated the allegations. An arrest warrant was issued by Palmer Court on the charges. Police stated on Dec. 1 that Barnes was arrested on the charges without incident. Bail was set at $10,000 cash corporate and a court-appointed third party.
According to online court records, Barnes has charges from an unrelated incident in Palmer District Court. He faces counts of felony counts of falsifying business records, and unauthorized use of an access device in addition to misdemeanor charges of second and third-degree theft. He is scheduled for a Dec. 12 court date in Anchorage on those charges.
Bail on those charges was set at $5,000.
