In February of 2024, Detectives with the Palmer Police Department began an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse, which ultimately resulted in the arrest and indictment of Ryan J. Hallgrimson, age 24 of Palmer, on four charges of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 2nd Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 3rd Degree.
This week, Hallgrimson pled guilty to one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 2nd Degree. Judge John Cagle sentenced Hallgrims to 12 years, with 10 suspended, along with 10 years’ probation. Detective Matthew Moore was the primary investigator.
The Palmer Police Department is committed to protecting and advocating for children who are victims of abuse. We commend them for showing absolute courage in facing their abuser and holding them accountable.
