PALMER — The Palmer Moose scored a pair of nonconference wins against Fairbanks area schools over the weekend.
Morgan Morfe smacked 14 kills to lead Palmer to a 3-1 (28-26, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20) win over the North Pole Patriots at Palmer High School Saturday afternoon. Jenna Arlow collected 25 assists and seven aces in the win, and Lily Cullers had 13 digs.
Sheridan Colver led North Pole with 16 kills. Samm Wood had 36 assists.
Morfe collected 13 kills Friday to help Palmer earn a 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 26-24) victory over West Valley.
Arlow had 21 assists and Kalene Smith finished with four blocks.
Julia Mackey led West Valley with 19 kills. Hannah Mattson added 10. Mackey also had 20 digs.
Paige Wolters finished with eight kills and 10 total blocks.
PALMER — The Colony Knights scored a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-15) win over North Pole on Friday.
Juniors Allison Leigh and Mary Klapperich combined for 25 kills in the win, with 13 and 12 respectively. Klapperich also finished with a team-best five blocks.
Kortnie Swenson led Colony with seven digs.
On Thursday, Colony swept West Valley 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23).
Meagan Vance led Colony with 18 digs. Maryann Zmuda had 32 assists.
Leigh finished with a team-high 16 kills and three blocks.
