Palmer needs off-road trails

My name is Dillan Hillis and I go to Palmer Junior Middle School. I am writing you because I think it would be a good idea to have off-road trails around the city.

A lot of people in Alaska own four-wheelers and other motorized off-road vehicles. They enjoy the excitement of riding. The problem is the way these vehicles are conflicting with other vehicles on the road. Every day you see people crossing roads on their 4x4s or dirt bikes, which is a huge risk. Many people get hit by cars and get severely injured or killed.

This is because crossing the road is dangerous. Cars are going at high speeds and are not paying attention to others crossing the road at the time. This is unacceptable. It is reckless.

My solution is building off-road trails for these off-road vehicles. This will create a safe way for people to have fun while still being safe. It will eliminate the danger at crossings. Not only will the trails help the off-roaders, they will also help out the people driving on the roads.

The trails would be an asset to the community. That is why I think off-road trails will be a great idea.

Thank you for taking time to read my letter, I appreciate it a lot. Best wishes.
