PALMER — In a relatively quiet race for Palmer City Council, both unopposed candidates cruised into office Tuesday.
Kevin Brown and Brad Hanson, an incumbent, will join the Palmer City Council amid change in the Mat-Su Valley.
According to unofficial election results from the city, Brown received 233 votes and Hanson garnered 256.
Hanson was not available for an interview Tuesday, but Brown said he’s looking forward to getting down to business.
“I want to see us work toward having our capital projects ironed out in the summer and a lot more of the budget set,” Brown said.
He also said he’s ready to tackle budget issues as soon as he takes his seat.
“I’m looking forward to the swearing in on Monday and looking forward to getting to work on the budget,” he said.
