Save the date July 27 from 4 to 6 p.m., this is the day set aside to brag on ourselves and recognize what a wonderful city Palmer is.
The mayor recognizes yards that are exceptionally beautiful. A special person is named Citizen of the Year. Alaska Grown vegetables are featured. So many contribute to our community that make me proud: There’s the Rotary that keeps the flags flying on the appropriate days, i.e. the Fourth of July. The Salvation Army and Palmer Food Bank that help feed those less fortunate. The numerous churches that continue to ask for God’s blessings, Lions and Kiwanis that do community service, Palmer Chamber with parades and Friday Flings. MTA, MEA, BP who sponsor events — the list goes on and on. What a difference one person can make — many individual make a whole community better. Join me in celebrating. See you at the depot July 27.
