WASILLA — You can check her out on iTunes, or live today on stage at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School.
Although she is just 14, Palmer’s Alani Claire has already made a name for herself locally as a talented young musician and performer. She’s taken the stage at local venues such as the farmer’s market in Palmer, Rusty’s in Palmer, Music in the Park in Wasilla and as a finalist in the Alaska State Fair’s “Alaska’s Got Talent” competition.
Claire takes the stage Tuesday in Wasilla to launch her “Change This World” local tour. The tour also is in conjunction with the release of her new CD, “Change This World,” which also will be available for purchase at the show.
“We are excited for her to share her talents with the students of Cottonwood Creek,” Cottonwood Creek Principal Lisa Vrvilo said. “All of her songs are uplifting songs about making good choices while growing up. She is amazing and it is sure to be fantastic.”
Claire said she’s excited to perform at Cottonwood Elementary today.
“I love looking in their eyes and telling them they are awesome just the way they are,” she said.
Born in Anchorage, the Palmer girl began singing and writing her own songs while playing the guitar at only 13 years old.
This is the first in a series of Alaska shows that precede her tour in San Diego, Calif., under the direction of her producer, Jeff McCullough of Tree Hill Media.
