Palmer senior scores three wins at Homer Invite

PALMER — A Palmer runner posted a trio of wins to lead all Valley athletes during the Homer Invitational April 21 in Homer.

Senior Lev Robertson finished with a pair of individual victories, and also helped the Moose win the boys’ 1,600-meter relay during the 10-team invitational. Robertson used a time of 2 minutes, 2.61 seconds to win the boys’ 800 meters. He also finished first in the 1,600 with a mark of 4:42.96. Robertson teamed with Larry Cutsforth, PJ Cutright and Amiqaq MacLean in Palmer’s victory in the relay.

Robertson also helped lead Palmer to a runner-up finish in the boys’ team standings with 62 points.

A pair of Wasilla runners also won an event. Allison VanPelt finshed first in the girls’ 1,600 with a time of 5:18.17, a personal record. VanPelt was also second in the 400.

Wyatt Helton won the 110-meter hurdles for the Wasilla boys.
