About 700 people attended the Saroma Sister City Exhibit and the Japan Disaster Relief Fund-raiser April 3 in Palmer. The fund-raiser garnered about $10,000 and occurred in conjunction with a museum exhibit of artifacts and gifts shared between Saroma, Japan, and Palmer during the 30 years the two have shared a sister city relationship. Donations may be made at Palmer City Hall through June when the sister city delegation travels to Saroma. To donate to the Japan Disaster Relief Fund, stop by city hall at 231 W. Evergreen Ave.
