Spencer L. Bloom, 16, Palmer, was honored Feb. 25 when he was promoted to Eagle Scout at an official Court of Honor hosted by Troop 325 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Palmer. Spencer earned Scouting’s highest rank after 5 1/2 years of service, during which he earned 30 merit badges and held numerous leadership positions, including senior patrol leader and junior assistant scoutmaster.
To complete his Eagle Scout requirements, he planned, organized and led a community service project that entailed designing and building three galvanized steel bicycle racks for Palmer High School. Spencer acquired donated material and services, and led 13 volunteers during 108 man-hours of labor.
Spencer is the son of Rick and Indra Bloom of Palmer.
