At different stages of the process, both Palmer and Wasilla are hosting informational sessions seeking public input about city plans for future annexation.
Palmer is working with a consulting company to develop guiding strategies and principles when looking at land to annex. More information can be found on the consultant’s website at www.agnewbeck.com under “Current Projects.”
The meeting is scheduled as follows:
• Palmer: Nov. 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the AT&T Sports Center (Community Room), 1507 N. Double B Street.
Wasilla is actively considering annexing areas surrounding the city. The areas under consideration include sections north of Wasilla to Seldon Road, east past Seward Meridian Parkway, south to include part of the Fairview Loop area and west to Foothills Boulevard.
The city council has not made any final decisions. Seeking public input, the city has scheduled the following meetings:
• Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School, 800 N. Seward Meridian Parkway.
• Thursday from 7 to 9:00 p.m., at Tanaina Elementary School, 2250 Lucille St.
• Nov. 19 from 7 to 9:00 p.m., at Goose Bay Elementary School, 6350 W. Hollywood Rd.
