PALMER — A Valley woman is on the loose after eluding police for the second time in about six months early Friday morning.
Authorities searched for Terra Stanley for about four hours early Friday morning. Palmer Police commander Dwayne Shelton said that around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Stanley, 43, of Palmer, eluded police, this time traveling to the Sherrod soccer fields before colliding with an electric box. Shelton said PPD officers did not immediately pursue Stanley, who escaped down to the Matanuska River. PPD called for backup, and K9 and rescue crews searched for Stanley for nearly four hours. Authorities halted search efforts between 4 and 7 a.m., Shelton said, while waiting for daylight.
Rescue crews searched the Matanuska River and determined that Stanley was not swept away, but has also not been found yet either. Stanley is not at her home and PPD is requesting anyone with information on Stanley’s whereabouts call 745-4811.
According to online court records, a warrant was issued for Stanley’s arrest after she failed to appear in court March 18. Stanley was originally charged with failure to stop at the direction of an officer in the second degree after eluding police on Sept. 26, 2018.
