A 36-year-old Palmer woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Butte, according to Alaska State Troopers, who said the incident was believed to be alcohol-related.
In an online dispatch posted Tuesday, troopers said Dawn Eakon was the driver of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee involved in the crash off Bodenburg Loop around 3:30 a.m. The report said the vehicle had been the subject of a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report 30 minutes prior to the crash, but Troopers had not been able to locate the Jeep.
Eakon’s next of kin were notified and the investigation continues, according to the report.
