Palmer Mayor Steve Carrington will recommend that Palmer’s council appoint city finance director Gina Davis to be interim city manager. If the council approves at its Tuesday meeting it will allow John Moosey, the current manger, to retire on schedule in mid-June.
“For interim managers we often have looked to prior Palmer city managers or to current Department Directors,” Carrington said in a mayor’s report included in the council’s agenda packet for the June 11 meeting. “After considering these options I am recommending to the City Council that we offer the position of Interim City Manager to our Finance Director Gina Davis with a 15% increase (in pay) effective immediately or at John Moosey’s last day with the city. This will be an action item on our agenda for our June 11, 2024 city council meeting,” Carrington said.
“I believe Gina Davis is the right choice, at this time, to be our interim city manager. As Finance Director Gina already has a great context to oversee the city departments and I think she can impartially work with all the directors,” the mayor said.
