DENALI PARK — A head-on crash that sent responders scrambling to the north end of the Mat-Su Borough claimed the lives of two Fairbanks residents Monday night.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, the crash at Mile 152 Parks Highway was reported at 5:50 p.m. The spot is five miles from the Byers Lake campground in Denali State Park and 50 miles north of the Talkeetna Spur Road.
Troopers say that the vehicles involved were a 2000 Saturn SL and a 2003 Lincoln Navigator.
The Navigator crossed the centerline and collided with the Saturn, killing both people inside, according to troopers.
The two occupants of the Saturn were Dontaveon Green, 33, of Fairbanks and Patricia Williams, 23, of Fairbanks.
In the Lincoln were the driver, Wilton Florencio Villa, 27, and a passenger that troopers didn’t identify. Both were taken to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage with what troopers described as serious injuries.
