WASILLA - The Parks Highway reopened to traffic Tuesday night following a multiple-vehicle, injury accident that sent one woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Katherine Lester, 24, was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for observation after a car crash on the Parks Highway near Museum Drive at about 6 p.m., according to Alaska State Troopers spokesperson Beth Ipsen.
She was attempting to turn right onto the highway and pulled out in front of a southbound truck, Ipsen said. The truck rear ended her car and sent it into the oncoming traffic, according to troopers. The vehicle spun around and was t-boned on the passenger side by another vehicle, Ipsen said.
All three vehicles were totaled. The road was closed while tow trucks cleared the scene.
No passengers in the truck were injured and the people riding in the other car reported minor injuries and refused treatment, Ipsen said.
