Pastor promotes hate

To the editor:

I must respectfully disagree with Mr. Hamman. I believe the Antichrist is the embodiment of organized religion — specifically the Christian church. Pastors and religious leaders like Mr. Hamman are part of the living, breathing Antichrist. They promote hate and intolerance which is in direct opposition to Jesus’ teachings. Religious zealots like Mr. Hamman hold themselves at a high place where they feel they have a right — an obligation — to pass judgment on others who are not like them. They preach hate and then cloak their words by explaining they hate the sin, but love the sinner. It’s lies and deceit that govern their motive. The actions of Mr. Hamman and of other representatives of organized Christian religion perform their evil in the name of Jesus Christ. This is exactly what the Bible warns the Antichrist will do.
