PATRICIA ANN KASTNER

Chugiak resident Patricia Ann "Trish" Kastner, 44, died March 8, 2005, of cancer, at home surrounded by family members.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Birchwood Community Church, 22208 N. Birchwood Loop Road, with Pastor Brad Rud officiating. A private family burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wasilla.

Born April 23, 1960, in Covington, Ky., to James and Maxine Brewster, Mrs. Kastner was an "Army brat," moving many times. Tours of duty brought the family to Alaska three times, beginning in 1968 at Fort Greely. A final move to Anchorage took place in 1977.

Mrs. Kastner graduated from Bartlett High School and worked for the former National Bank of Alaska for 20 years, working her way up from a teller to a mortgage loan officer. She spent the last three years at Alaska USA Mortgage in Eagle River.

She was a member of the Birchwood Community Church and Eagle River Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Kastner enjoyed her work, as well as quilting and playing cards.

Her family wrote, "Trish was always polite and considerate of others and loved to help people. She loved her two doggies, 'Gizmo' and 'Gadget.' She will be missed by many."

She is survived by her husband, Ken Kastner of Chugiak; son, Cory Schulz of Alaska; daughter, Cherice Kastner of Colorado, and parents, Maxine and James Brewster of Kentucky.

Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1057 W. Fireweed, Anchorage, AK 99503. The family requests no flowers.

Funeral arrangements were by Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla.
