The Patriot Flag flew in Anchorage over the Fallen Firefighters Memorial on Dec. 21. Firefighters from Anchorage Fire Department Station No. 1 A Shift and Central Mat-Su raised the 30-foot by 58-foot commemorative flag, which honors those who perished in the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The flag’s journey began Sept. 10 in San Diego, Calif., and it will fly in all 50 states before it flies over Manhattan, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Penn. on the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United Airlines Flight 93.
