Pauline was 79 years old when she passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2022 in Tucson, AZ., on her wedding anniversary.

Pauline was originally from Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Alaska with her family in 1959 and attended Anchorage High School. Pauline graduated from Copper Valley Catholic School in Tazlina, Alaska, and cooked at the family-owned Eureka Lodge (near Glennallen, Alaska) in the early 1960’s. After many years as a stay-at-home mom in Glacier View, Pauline re-entered the workforce as an institutional cook for the Mat-Su Borough School Districts central kitchen in Wasilla, planning and preparing meals on a grand scale. Pauline was famous for her baked goods and delicious meals. She carefully guarded her culinary secrets and many of these recipes are still a secret. She loved the outdoors and driving. Often making the long trek between her long-time cabin on Silver Lake (Chitina, Alaska) to Tucson, Arizona, where she made her home in her later years. She was a faithful and devout Catholic, an avid Bingo Player, loved to garden and was an immaculate homemaker. She was well loved and had lots of friends and extended family in her life’s journey and has an extensive Christmas Card list to prove it.

Pauline was the family matriarch as the eldest of seven children. Preceding her in death was her sister Nina, her parents, Jim and Norma Wahrer, and first husband Don Johnson. She is survived by sisters, Mary and Chris, and brothers Jimmy, Billy and Auggie. In addition, Pauline is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Kenyon of Tucson, Arizona. Her son Arthur (Nikki), son Dennis, both residing in Alaska and daughter Barbara (Michael) in Arizona; plus five Grand-daughters Kahlee, Caitlin, McKenna, Delaney, and Shannon. Bonus Grand-kids — Erich, Nicole, Christina and Aiden; and Great-Grandchildren Dani and Atticus.

Heaven truly received another angel and left her earthly family broken-hearted.

On Friday, October 7, 2022, at 9 a.m. There will be a Memorial Mass officiated by Fr. Fred Bugarin at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 825 S. Klevin. There will be a celebration of life immediately following in the church reception hall for family and friends.
