Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Pearl Trowbridge, former long-time resident of Bailey Hill, died peacefully, March 1, 2004, in Seattle, Wash.
She was born March 6, 1912, in Dayton, Wash., but grew up in Shaniko, Ore. After graduating from Antelope High School, in 1930, she went to school and worked in the Portland area. Later she married and lived in central Oregon before moving to Palmer in 1949.
Mrs. Trowbridge worked as a secretary at Palmer High School from 1957 until her retirement in 1983.
She enjoyed gardening, raising carrots, peas, cabbage and potatoes. She always had beautiful flowers. Her other hobbies were fishing, being a 4-H leader, bowling and traveling. Family was also very important.
She is survived by her son Craig (Joan) of Kansas City, Mo., daughter-in-law Amelia Trowbridge of Seattle, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Larry, in April 2000.
Arrangements were made by Yarington's Funeral Home in Seattle.
