Fisheries Board creates "Personal Use" category
The Alaska Board of Fisheries has established a category of fishing entitled "Personal Use."
The concept of a personal-use fishery was adopted by the board to provide a mechanism for the taking of fish surplus to spawning escapement needs and the present level of need for commercial, subsistence and sport fisheries in areas where there has historically been a personal-use finfish and shellfish fishery by means other than rod and reel.
Personal-use fisheries can also be established by the board when dictated by the public interest, as long as escapement needs are met, according to a press release.

Fink, an Anchorage insurance man, told viewers it is an inflated cost which they should ignore, saying the capital relocation from Juneau to Willow will actually run about $110 million.

A new Ford pickup ran about $10,000, while you could purchase a used truck for a few thousand less.
At the Palmer Video Cache, the new Quasar and Panasonic VCRs were available -- for the low cost of $595, which included a two-week membership. Also available at the Palmer Video Cache were Atari game consoles for $34.95. The best news was that Pac-Man was available, but there was a limited supply, according to the advertisement.
