Residents quizzed

on ski resort

People who live in the Hatcher Pass area are being asked their opinion of the proposal by Mitsui to build a ski resort in the area.

This comes as state and local officials prepared to meet with the Citizens Advisory Committee in Anchorage to discuss the local impact of the proposed development.

Technical advisors are working with various assumptions and scenarios to try to gauge the impact of the resort development on the people who live near Hatcher Pass.

Local pool programs expanded

The borough has added more family swim time and is working on more specialized programs.

Political advertisements 15 years ago featured familiar names to current Valley residents -- Ron Larson, Curt Menard, Tuckerman Babcock and Jay Kertulla were a few of the incumbents and challengers.

In the TV listings, Night Court, Knots Landing, L.A. Law, The Cosby Show and Cheers were ratings winners.
