Plans are in the making to transfer the Agricultural Experiment Station to the University of Alaska, according to a news release given to Anchorage and Fairbanks papers last week.

The official resolution was passed by the Board of Regents this month. It will be presented to the Legislature.

D&A Super opening Tomorrow

Tomorrow will mark the grand opening of the D&A Super, Palmer's newest supermarket owned by Darrel and Ann Frank.

The handsome new structure is located on the north side of the Glenn Highway, at the Valley Street intersection. It replaces D&A Grocery on Valley Street as a popular Palmer shopping center for the past four years.

At the B&B Market, you could buy three loaves of bread for $1.19. Four oranges were going for a dollar and a two-pound can of coffee was only $1.23.

In the "Under 21" advice column, a reader asked about the new "girl-ask-boy" dances. The columnist said it "takes a little away from the quality of the dance."

At the Center Theater, James Garner and Tony Randall were starring in "Boys' Night Out." James Stewart was playing the role of Lucky Lindy in "The Spirit of St. Louis."

In the classified section, a one-bedroom house near Swanson School was renting for $75 a month, while a two-bedroom, full basement home in the Butte sold for $13,500.

Also in the classified section, you could rent an adding machine by the day, week or month from the newspaper.
