• Susitna Valley High graduate Air Force Maj. Leigh Hasson has been selected to serve as a military fellow in Sen. Mark Begich's Washington, D.C., office.

• Shannon Swart of Palmer was named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Ind.

• Amelia H Gilden of Palmer was named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Missouri State University, Springfield, Mo.

• George Percak-Dennett of Wasilla is among 51 Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minn., students participating in student teaching and internship assignments at area elementary, middle and secondary schools this spring. Percak-Dennett is a senior studying social studies education and teaching social studies at Trek North Elementary School.

• Kelly Renee Moran of Wasilla was named to the president's list at Clemson University, Clemson, S.C., for the fall 2011 semester. Moran is majoring in mathematical sciences. To be named to the president's list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average.

• Anna Woodall of Wasilla was named to the honor roll at Bethel University, McKenzie, Tenn., for the fall semester 2011.
