• Tori Bishop of Palmer presented a project titled “Design of a Hydraulic Intake Structure for Developing World Water Systems,” during the annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Symposium April 24 at the Fort Lewis College School of Arts and Sciences in Durango, Co. Students were selected by their departments to represent the best undergraduate research and performances done at Fort Lewis College this year. Bishop is studying engineering.
• Sara Mary Cannon of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list for the 2014 winter quarter at Seattle Pacific University.
• Dylan Spargo of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list for the 2014 winter quarter at Seattle Pacific University.
• Helena Ann Reisterer of Palmer made the president’s list for earning a 4.0 GPA for the 2014 winter quarter at Western Washington University, in Bellingham.
• Theodore Hoople of Palmer received the 2014 Environmental Science Capstone Award May 2 at the annual Colby-Sawyer College Scholars and Leaders Ceremony, in New London, N.H.
• Melody Mileur of Palmer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration during a May 11 commencement ceremony at Gonzaga University, in Spokane, Wash.
• Briana Danielle Theodora Campbell of Wasilla graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University, Clemson, S.C., May 9 with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. She also was named to the president’s list for the spring 2014 semester.
• Morgan P. Lundt of Palmer earned a 4.0 grade point average and was named to the dean’s list at Colorado State University-Pueblo for the spring 2014 semester.
• Ian Ahrens of Palmer was named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Chadron State College, Chadron, NE.
• Danielle Buckley of Palmer was named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Chadron State College, Chadron, NE.
• Taylor F. Asher of Talkeetna was named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Keene State College, Keene, N.H.
• Andy Couch, Howard Delo, Larry Engel and Bruce Knowles were honored with a proclamation from the 28th Alaska Legislature commending them as longtime advocates for Mat-Su salmon.
• Lindsey Richey of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list spring semester of 2014 at Ashland University, Ashland, Ore. She is a 2010 graduate of Wasilla High School.
• Brandon Williams of Wasilla has been appointed to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and will be sworn-in June 30 as a member of the class of 2018 at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. He is the son of Kami and Sailor Williams of Wasilla and the grandson of Janna Brickley of Anchorage and Butch and Kathyann Pastuszynski of Buffalo, N.Y.
• Kelly Renee Moran of Wasilla, who is studying mathematical sciences, was named to the president’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.
