• SPC Vincent Cottle of Wasilla is currently stationed on Fort Myer Virginia, with the 3D U.S. Infantry Regiment. On May 28, during twilight tattoo (a weekly show for the public), a young boy ran up to SPC Vincent Cottle choking. He performed chest thrusts and back blows as he was trained to do so during his America Red Cross Lifeguard training in Wasilla and managed to free a piece of candy from the boy’s throat. On June 9, SPC Cottle received a Coin from the Commanding General of Washington in appreciation. He is extremely grateful for the recognition, and his family and friends are so very proud of SPC Cottle for his quick reaction and for serving his country.
