• Gregory Eisenhower of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2015 at Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska.
• Ian Ahrens of Palmer was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2015 at Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska.
• Danielle Buckley of Palmer was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2015 at Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska.
• U.S. Army Specialist and Colony High School graduate Bridger Van Ness finished 19th out of a total 51 teams in the Best Ranger Competition with Sgt. Elliot Cochran in Fort Benning, Georgia, April 10-13. Van Ness graduated from the Road to Ranger Program last year and has been in the Army for 19 months.
• Taylor Asher of Talkeetna was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester at Keene State College, Keene, New Hampshire.
• Katya Jenkins of Palmer was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of 2015 at George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon.
• FedEx driver John Western of Wasilla finished third in the Step Van class of the 2015 Alaska State Truck Driving Championship in Anchorage May 15-16.
• Former Palmer Police Department Sergeant Dwayne Shelton was promoted to Commander May 18. He was hired by the department as an officer in 1999 and promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2012. He replaces Commander Lance Ketterling who was promoted to Chief of Police after former Chief Thomas Remaley retired.
