People We Know

• Maci Christine Eisenhower and Dylan Spargo, both of Wasilla, and local student Sara Mary Cannon who currently lives in Seattle, Wash., were named to the 2011 Winter Quarter Dean’s List at Seattle Pacific University. Students on the list have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

• Colony High School senior Kelly Moran is among 560 students selected as semifinalists for the 2011 Presidential Scholars Program. Semifinalists were selected on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities.

• Wasilla residents Jim Banks and Don Warbke area headed to Alabama and northern Mississippi to assist with the Red Cross’ efforts to help residents impacted by devastating spring storms.
