People We Know

Alaska Peace Officers, Mat-Su Chapter, awarded $1,000 scholarships to college-bound students Seth McKinnis, Mary Katherine Dombroski and Joshua Jackson.

• McKinnis is a junior who is studying political science with an emphasis on international politics and policy at Patrick Henry College, where he has been on the dean’s list for his freshman and sophomore years.

• Dombroski is a senior studying criminal justice at University of Alaska Anchorage with a psychology minor. She also is the captain of the Law Enforcement Explorers program for the Mat-Su Valley.

• Jackson enters Mat-Su College as a freshman this fall. He graduated from the Mat-Su Central High School and plans to study justice.
