People We Know

• Ashlee M. Carlson of Palmer graduated from Linfield College, McMinnville, Washington, with a bachelor’s of arts degree in economics.

• Nathan Sidell of Palmer will work as a summer intern in the Washington, D.C., office of Senator Lisa Murkowski from July 7 to Aug. 1.

• Michael L. Wagner of Palmer graduated during spring commencement ceremonies from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolo, Missouri. Wagner earned a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering.

• U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Trevor L. Griffith graduated with honors from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Griffith graduated from Colony High School in Palmer in 2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2013.

• Seth Schober of Palmer is a recipient of the nationally competitive German Academic Exchange Service-Research Internships in Science and Engineering Scholarship. He is an electrical and computer engineering major at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New Jersey, and will travel to Germany to conduct research in the field of electrical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. Specifically, he will look into the effect of subjecting various metamaterials to radiation in the terahertz range in order to create optically tunable metamaterials. Schober serves as a volunteer physics tutor through the Society of Physics and is a member of the Debate Union at the University of Rochester.

• William Hacker of Wasilla graduated during spring commencement ceremonies with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado.

• Janessa Willard of Wasilla graduated during spring commencement ceremonies with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado.

• Mandi Dee Ringgenberg of Wasilla was named to the spring honor roll at Central Washington University. Ellensburg, Washington.
