Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

• Colony High School senior Greta Jenkins competed with the Alaska Junior National Nordic Ski Team March 9-14 in Truckee, California. Jenkins placed highest in the mass start 10-kilometer classic race, finishing 45th out of 81 female, U18 racers, with a time of 43:29.5. She also placed 63rd in the 5k freestyle and 65th in the freestyle sprint races.
• Colony High School sophomore Dawson Knopp competed with the Alaska Junior National Nordic Ski Team March 9-14 in Truckee, California. Knopp placed highest in the freestyle sprint race, finishing 20th out of 84 male, U18 racers, with a time of 2:47.64. He also placed 29th in the 10k classic and 44th in the 10k freestyle races.
• Cameron Christiansen of Palmer is part of the Concordia IMPROVables, an improvisational theatre group that brought 24 hours of laughs to campus March 20 to March 21 in the Janzow Campus Center, Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska.
He also played the role of Jesus Christ in a Concordia University production and sings Bass II in an a cappella choir that will travel to Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri for its annual tour April 8-12.
And Christiansen played the role of Claude in "The Omelet Murder Case," staged as part of the university’s annual One-Act Play Festival.
• Kevin Williams of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list for the 2014 fall semester at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.
• Hillary Graham of Wasilla was named to the dean’s list for the 2014 fall semester at Colgate University, Hamilton, New York.
