• Dina Atkin of Wasilla has been awarded a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kaplan University in a Feb. 5 graduation ceremony in Miami, Fla.
• U.S. Marine Corps Captain Miguel Cruz of Wasilla received the 2010 1st Lt. Travis Manion Memorial Marine Corps Officer Logistician of the Year Award Feb. 3 at the seventh annual MCA Ground Logistics Awards Dinner. He is currently assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron-171 at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, where he serves as the maintenance management officer and S-2 intelligence officer.
• Liza Krauszer of Wasilla was part of a group of 11 members of the National Civilian Community Corps, an AmeriCorps program, who traveled to Louisiana in November 2010 to begin a four-week project building Habitat for Humanity homes for people affected during the 2005 hurricane season.
