• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Brandon W. Krause graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of William Krause of E. Jean Drive, Palmer. Krause graduated in 2010 from Colony High School, Palmer.

• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class John S. Pahkala graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Pahkala earned distinction as an honor graduate. The airman graduated in 2007 from Wasilla High School. He is the son of Steven Pahkala and Christine Pahkala, both of Wasilla.

• Air Force Airman Vance L. Rasor graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Vincent Rasor of N. Teakwood Way, Palmer. Rasor graduated in 2008 from Colony High School, Palmer.

• Sutton resident Kelly Anderson was named to the spring 2011 Oak Hills (Minn.) Christian College Dean’s List. Students making the Dean’s List must have a GPA of 3.5 or above.

• Christian Holsten of Palmer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Whitworth (Wash.) University.

• James D. Hammer from Palmer earned a Master of Business Administration degree in General Business from Wayland Baptist University’s campus in Anchorage.

• Holden Allen Conover from Palmer earned a Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University’s campus in Anchorage.

• Shane W. Pollock from Palmer earned a Associate of Applied Science degree in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University’s campus in Anchorage.

• Teeland Middle School teacher Michelle Boyden received a scholarship to attend the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala, this June 15-21.
