Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

• Jade Oleck of Palmer graduated May 7 from Montana State University in Bozeman.
• Dalton E. Benson of Palmer received his Bachelor of Science degree in political science with a minor in Asian-Pacific American studies and a certificate in civic education from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., during the 2011 commencement ceremony in May. He is the son of Sharon and Donald Benson of Palmer.
• Palmer High School senior Derick Hanna, 17, is one two high school students in the state and 98 in the nation selected to participate in the American Legion Boys Nation July 22-30 at Marymount University, Arlington, Va. Delegates were selected based on leadership skills, academic record and activity at American Legion Boys State.
• Julia Morris of Wasilla graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Wash., May 8 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
• Don Warble of Wasilla will spend about three weeks in North Dakota assisting the American Red Cross with external relations and acting as a government liaison. He also was among the first volunteers to Alabama and Mississippi after tornadoes caused widespread damage in April.
